A message from Larry Kissell,

You just took the first step in returning our Country to the people. Thank you for taking the time to visit this page. I hope I can count on your support in our fight to take our Country back from the special interests.

Congressman Robin Hayes has taken us for granted. He was quoted in our local paper here as saying to our school superintendent, "You need me more than I need you." He has clearly been in Washington too long and needs to be retired.

When the founders developed the concept of the United States Congress it was meant to be a branch of government that would be filled by everyday people. These people would come and go, being replaced by other everyday people. Congress was not meant to be a profession. It was meant to be what it was called: The U.S. House of Representatives.

Seven years ago I answered a calling to enter education and leave textiles, a place where I knew I could no longer make a difference. No matter how well-run our mill was, it was not able to compete with the foreign competitors that Robin Hayes voted to give all concessions to. The call was to become a teacher and after teaching these past few years and looking into the eyes of the next generation I knew I had to answer when called to run for Congress.

I'm a regular guy -- son of my late father Richard, a decorated WWII veteran and local postmaster, and mother Virene, a retired mathematics teacher, husband of my wife Tina, and father of Jenny Leigh, 18, and Aspen, 15. I graduated from Wake Forest University with a degree in economics and have always lived and worked right here at home. I will be a real representative of the people and answer to the only special interest that matters -- the people of the 8th district of North Carolina.

I hope you will join my campaign. I need you to invest in this fight. If we don't step up now, our children will pay the price. We have a responsibility to protect their future. I hope I can count on you to take action and contribute. This is a seat we can take back, but I can't do it alone.

Together, we can make a difference.
