Are You Ready for this Summer's Gas Price Spikes?
A message from Larry...
Wednesday, May 23, 2007
Biscoe, NC – Like most working Americans, I know my family isn't ready to see $3.15, $3.22 or heaven forbid $3.30 at the pump. But we know worse is on the way even beyond this Memorial Day weekend.
We all enjoyed the temporary price breaks surrounding last year's election, but ever since it seems we've had nothing but the longest running price spikes on record with no hint of relief in sight.
Today actually marks the 20th day in a row gas has been over $3 a gallon. It's also a year to the month since my opponent finally got serious about high gas prices by filling up his luxury SUV with E85 for the news cameras, then hightailing it back to Washington.
Now what Robin? Struggling families are sitting around kitchen tables discussing this issue now. They can't wait for next years' election.
I'd encourage you to call Robin Hayes (his number is 202-225-3715) and ask him to get serious about America's energy independence, but we all know that won't change his mind. I'd encourage you to write Robin Hayes (his contact form is here) and ask him to support working families over big oil, but we all know that won't change his mind either.
The reality is, on this or any other issue, if you aren't President Bush, Exxon or another multi-billionaire special interest, there's only one way to change Robin Hayes' mind...
Give generously to my campaign for common sense.
You'll scare the special interest right out of Robin Hayes.
Last year, when gas hit the then appalling price of $2.89 per gallon, I reminded folks of a time when it was $1.22 per gallon, the price when Robin Hayes first took office.
Now I'd like to remind you of a time, when people ran for public office to listen, offer solutions and help people. I want to help people.
If you want to help people too, help me now and tell all your friends to do the same.
Have a safe, blessed Memorial Day weekend.
