Biscoe, NC – The Young Democrats of North Carolina (YDNC) will host the second YDNC "Saving Our Schools" town hall at 7pm on Thursday, January 24 at East Montgomery High School. East Montgomery is located at 157 Eagle Lane off Old 220 in Biscoe. The forum will feature Congressional candidate and teacher Larry Kissell, and be moderated by State Representative Melanie Wade Goodwin. The public is encouraged to attend.
"As a teacher, I know the challenges facing our schools should be a priority for all of us, whether registered as Democrat, Republican or Unaffiliated. As a candidate for Congress, I know we can't afford to wait for changes in Washington to save our schools at home," said Kissell.
Kissell has been endorsed by the North Carolina Association of Educators (NCAE) in his 2008 bid to represent North Carolina's 8th District.
"This will be the second of seven such events in our statewide education series. We are excited about the event and look forward to engaging communities around the state," said Zack Hawkins, YDNC President.
