Kissell gets boost
From Inside Politics
Larry Kissell, who narrowly lost an election to U.S. Rep. Robin Hayes two years ago, has won financial and political backing from the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.
According to a release Wednesday from Kissell, the committee has added him to the "Red to Blue" program that aims to defeat Republicans such as Hayes in November.
Hayes, from Concord, represents the 8th District, which includes part of Cumberland County. Hayes was first elected in 1998.
Kissell is a high school teacher from Montgomery County. He joined about a dozen other Democratic challengers named by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee as "Candidates for Change" who will face Republican incumbents in competitive seats this year. Kissell has no primary opponent.
