Celebrating National Library Week

First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries across the country each April. It is a time to celebrate the contributions of our nation's libraries nd librarians and to promote library use and support.

* Stanly Regional's Director of Public Relations, Ben Jolly, is reading Peter Jennings; A Reporter's Life.

* Brooks Barnhardt, photographer for the Oakboro Regional Museum, is reading Pretty Poison by Joyce and Jim Lavene.

* Badin Mayor Jim Harrison recently finished 40 Days of Purpose by Rick Warren.
